An alert has been issued by the Montgomery County Department of Police as they seek the public’s assistance in tracking down a 55-year-old man who is wanted for a series of crimes that were committed in the area in recent months.
Gaithersburg resident Jonah Ammiel Carter is wanted after allegedly committing larceny and burglaries at locations in Burtonsville, Silver Spring, and Kensington.
Carter is reported to have stolen “large quantities of items” from:
- Giant Food in the 1200 block of East West Highway on Monday, Jan. 16;
- Giant Food in the 15000 block of Old Columbia Pike on Monday, Feb. 6;
- Safeway in the 10000 block of Connecticut Avenue in Kensington on Wednesday, Nov. 16.
Additional robberies were not disclosed by investigators.
Anyone with information regarding Carter or his whereabouts has been asked to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County by calling 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 has been offered for information that leads to his arrest and prosecution.
